Summer Camp 2026 – Holy Family Church, Brahmavar
A three-day Summer Camp for children from 5th to 10th standard was successfully organized at Holy Family Church, Brahmavar, from 13th to 15th April 2026, in collaboration with the Catechism Commission and Seminary Commission of the parish. The camp was entirely conducted by the Sisters of the Charity of the Sacred Heart Convent, Brahmavar, under the able leadership of Sr. Felcy, Principal of Nirmala P.U.C. College. She was assisted by a dedicated team of Sisters from various communities of the province, including Sr. Jeevitha, Sr. Prema, Sr. Priya, Sr. Ancilla, and Sr. Marita. The camp was inaugurated by the Parish Priest, Fr. John Fernandes, who, in his inspiring inaugural address, encouraged the children to learn good values, deepen their faith, and build a strong sense of unity and community spirit. Around 65 children actively participated in the camp. Over the three days, they were engaged in a variety of meaningful and joyful activities such as value-based talks, action songs, group games, learning sessions, and group performances. These activities helped them grow spiritually, socially, and personally, while also discovering and nurturing the talents gifted to them by God. The second day (14th April) was filled with learning, singing, playing, and interactive sessions, creating a lively and joyful atmosphere among the participants. On 15th April, a spiritual tour was organized to Velakannur, offering the children a unique opportunity to experience the presence of the Eucharistic Lord in a deeper and more personal way. It was a grace-filled moment that enriched their faith and devotion. The motto of the camp was to bring children together, help them learn values, interact with one another, and grow as a faith-filled community. The camp truly achieved this goal, fostering a spirit of joy, unity, and belonging among the participants. The camp was made possible through the generosity of donors, whom we gratefully remember in our prayers and intentions. Special appreciation goes to the coordinators and members of both commissions — ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ್ ಆಯೋಗ್ (Religious Commission) and ಭಾವಾಡ್ತಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ್ (Catechetical Commission)—for their wholehearted involvement and dedicated service. It is encouraging to note the valuable presence and support of the co-coordinator of 20 commissions, Mrs. Gretta Joyce Dsouza. Mrs. Janet Fernandes, Mrs. Juliana Furtado, and other members also contributed generously by motivating and encouraging the students. The children also enjoyed well-prepared and nutritious meals throughout the camp, which added to their overall joyful experience. The camp concluded on a meaningful note, leaving behind beautiful memories and a renewed enthusiasm in the hearts of the children.
